“Radical Disciple - Job 2”

The Book of Job is set against the backdrop of the post-Exilic Jewish community, a community that had lost everything—the land, the Temple, their homes, and many loved ones. In the face of these losses, they were tempted to reject God. Job was written, in part, to address the socioeconomic injustices experienced by both righteous Jews and by those under Persian colonial rule during this period.

The Book of Job speaks not only to individual suffering but also portrays Job as a representative figure, illustrating how the larger community is called to respond to collective loss.

As we celebrate our 60th anniversary this Sunday, we are reminded of our role as a faith community—to support one another and our local community in times of need. This will be a time to reflect on who we are and the mission God has entrusted to us.

Join person or on our Woodridge UMC YouTube Channel at 10:00 am this Sundayas we explore this challenge together.

Woodridge UMC Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair and Bake Sale

Woodridge UMC is having a craft and vendor fair on Saturday, November 9th from 9 am to 2 pm.  Last year’s sale was successful.  Let’s see if we can make it a bigger success this year!  We are currently looking for crafters/vendors, donations for the bake sale from our members and volunteers for the bake sale raffle or raffle table and help price the items.  Also, does anyone live on a main street or high traffic area?  We have a couple of lawn signs for advertising the sale that would be great in that kind of location. Contact the church office if you can help in any way or if you have any questions. We could really use more vendors!
