Woodridge
UMC Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair and Bake Sale TOMORROW
Woodridge UMC is having a craft and vendor
fair on Saturday,
November 9th from 9 am to 2 pm. Come
and join us for the show! There is a bake sale, raffle
and POPCORN, too!
THIS Sunday
is Commitment Sunday
We love reminding you just how grateful we are for your
consistent, faithful financial gifts to Woodridge UMC! Your
ongoing generosity makes it possible for us to be a safe
place of welcome for all kinds of groups throughout the week
and for you and all our neighbors on Sunday mornings.
As you read in the letter you received or heard in Wally
Jeske’s presentation last week, THIS Sunday,
November 10th, is Financial Commitment Sunday.
After prayerfully considering your intentions for giving to
Woodridge UMC in 2023, we ask you to fill out the 2024
Estimate of Giving Form (included with the mailing or
available in the narthex).
Please bring the form with you to this Sunday’s worship
service as we will collect and consecrate them.
If you are unable to attend worship in person this week, you
may attach your 2023 Estimate of Giving Form in an email to
our Financial Secretary, Geoff Morman (finsec@woodridgeumc.org).
Or you may mail your 2023 Estimate of Giving Form to the
church office at 2700 75th St., Woodridge, IL 60517.
Thank you for being part of the ministry of Woodridge United
Methodist Church!
60th Anniversary Sign
Our current sign is 30 years old and no longer working.
In celebration of 60+ years together, we are working towards
replacing the broken sign with a new electronic messaging
sign. Designs and quotes have been requested from sign
companies. Research has given us a general idea of the costs,
which are about $50,000. Thanks to a generous donation,
we have a substantial start to the fund. However, this
is a huge endeavor, and we are asking for further donations
from the congregation. Please join us in celebrating
our church and donate today! If you wish your donation
to be in memory or honor of a loved one, we will publish the
list when the sign is installed.

As the Polls Close, Seek God and the Welfare
of the Whole
Siblings in Christ,
Greetings in the hope we have in Jesus
Christ.
Hear these words of scripture: "Be
agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be
humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No
retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s
your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a
blessing" (1 Peter 3:8-9, MSG).

November Outreach Offering
Tree of Life Ministries
Tree of Life is a relief agency affiliated with the Dakotas
Conference of the United Methodist Church. Located in
Mission, South Dakota on the Rosebud Reservation, Tree of
Life serves several of the poorest counties in the United
States. The reservation has an 80% unemployment rate and over
50% of the Lakota people live under the poverty level and
cannot afford necessities. The ministries of Tree of Life
include: The Warm Welcome-feeding program and food pantry,
Tree of Life Boutique¬--thrift store and a construction
ministry which makes free repairs to over 50 homes and
community buildings each year.
Tree of Life has made great strides in developing respect and
understanding between cultures, helping to break down racial
prejudice and distrust. This is accomplished by providing
cultural presentations to volunteers, working together with
tribal agencies, and being involved in meeting daily needs.
