Native
American Ministries Sunday THIS Sunday
Native American Ministries Sunday serves to remind United
Methodists of the gifts and contributions made by Native
Americans to our society. With more than 20,000 Native
Americans within the denomination, this special Sunday helps
to ensure that Native American United Methodist leaders are
recognized, provides hope for a brighter future in
impoverished communities, and a voice to those who have felt
voiceless for centuries.
25% of every donation made on Native American Ministries
Sunday provides scholarships. Your donations provide
development, implementation, and assessment of a higher
education recruitment and retention for Native American
clergy.
50% of donations to Native American Ministries Sunday remain
in local annual conferences. The Northern Illinois region has
a high population of Native Americans from varying tribes,
many of whom have encountered harm or misunderstanding from
the Christian church. The Northern Illinois Conference
Committee on Native American Ministries (CONAM) leads efforts
to provide basic educational resources for churches to
explore the history and culture of Native Americans in their
region and gain a better understanding of contemporary Native
American life.

UMC Outdoor Sign
Our current sign is 30 years old and no longer working.
In celebration of 60+ years together, we are working towards
replacing the broken sign with a new electronic messaging

However, all the electrical quotes have come in and are much
higher than expected. Based on this quote we need an
additional ~$3500. Please join us in celebrating our
church and help us finish this huge undertaking! If
you wish your donation to be in memory or honor of a loved
one, we will publish the list when the sign is installed.

Fleece Donations Needed
We have learned that Joann Fabrics was a source of much of
the fleece that has been used to make scarves for Woodridge
school children the last few years. As they are now
going out of business we are asking that if anyone is able to
purchase a few yards of fleece to donate for use this fall it
would be appreciated. You can bring any donations to
church where they will be stored until needed. Thanks!
May
Outreach Offering - NAMI (National Alliance on Mental
Illness) DuPage
Since 1949, Mental
Health Awareness Month has played a
vital role in spotlighting the challenges faced by millions
of Americans living with mental health conditions. Each May,
this nationwide movement serves as a powerful reminder of the
importance of mental wellness and community support.
NAMI
DuPage proudly joins the national effort
to break
the stigma, amplify voices,
and foster
understanding around mental health. NAMI
DuPage was founded in 1985 as an affiliate of the National
Alliance on Mental Illness, a nationwide mental health
advocacy organization who were dedicated to improving the
quality of lives of people affected by mental illnesses. NAMI
DuPage has grown to an organization of over 1,000 members,
and has become one of the largest and most innovative
of over 600 affiliates nationwide. They
envision a community that eliminates the stigma of mental
illness, creates awareness to identify illness earlier, and
supports and empowers all people impacted by mental health
conditions to live life with purpose and meaning. They
provide individual services, support groups, workforce
