"The Love for One Another"

2 Thessalonians 1:3-4, 11-12 / Luke 19:1-10

This Sunday, we’ll reflect on what it means to be saints—people saved by God’s grace who live each day in faith and love. Like the Apostle Paul, we give thanks for one another and for the love that continues to grow among us through Christ. We’ll also look at the story of Zacchaeus, whose life was completely transformed when he welcomed Jesus into his home. His love for others began to overflow, showing us what true salvation looks like—changed hearts and renewed relationships.

Come and join us this Sunday as we celebrate God’s grace that makes us saints and renews our love for one another each day. Let’s gather in worship to give thanks, grow in love, and be reminded that when we meet Jesus, transformation begins!

Join us for worship this Sunday at 10:00 am in person or on our Woodridge UMC YouTube Channel!

REMEMBER: That Daylight Savings Time starts this weekend and to TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK!!

Northern Illinois Conference

In these difficult days, it has become increasingly dangerous for our Hispanic/Latine neighbors to leave their homes—including for work, which results in lost pay; to take children to their school bus stops; to shop for groceries; and to attend worship services.

To provide some relief, Bishop Schwerin has established an Emergency Solidarity Fund. It will assist primarily Hispanic/Latine people (but also other immigrants) who are increasingly vulnerable. (Read the Bishop's article here.)

People with whom our churches directly minister and those in our towns and neighborhoods can request help. Clergy can suggest needs they know about. The requests will be reviewed by a small, trustworthy group that includes clergy who minister in immigration contexts, laypeople, and conference staff.

This fund will be collecting funds through Jan. 16, 2026. The goal is for the first round of funds to be distributed in early November 2025.

Please consider giving to this fund as a way to follow Jesus’s commandment to love our neighbors.
