"Small Beginnings"

Romans 8:18-25 / Matthew 13:24-30

Small Seeds, Unstoppable Grace (Romans 8:31-39, Matthew 13:31-33)

How does God work when the world feels overwhelmingly big, noisy, and divided? Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven doesn't announce itself with fanfare. Instead, it moves like a tiny mustard seed hidden in the soil, or a pinch of yeast buried in dough—working quietly beneath the surface to yield an extraordinary harvest.

Join us this Sunday as we explore Jesus’ parables of hidden treasure and small beginnings. Discover how our everyday acts of love, service, and care—no matter how small—are part of God's expansive, unstoppable grace.

Join us for service at 10:00 am in person or online on our Woodridge UMC YouTube Channel.

Northern Illinois Conference
Becoming the Beloved Community
How to Talk About Race in America

Saturday, July 18th, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at Barrington UMC.
Becoming the Beloved Community is a four-hour workshop that conveys not only facts and essential knowledge about race and racism but also seeks to help us experience some of the harm and hurt racial prejudice has caused. The emphasis on sharing will also introduce ways all churches can become more closely knit as its members share their own lives more deeply with each other. This will help churches become more active, intentional communities, honoring Christ's life and teachings not only about fighting inequality but other forces that prevent us from seeing all people and the earth as God's beloved creations. The cost is $10 and includes a light lunch and refreshments. The event is limited to 25 people. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. More information is available here . Online registration is available here.
